Abstract: The China Scholarship Council (CSC) is an institution aiming to improve the training of creative and distinguished postgraduates and enhance the development of China’s higher education. Over the past several years, CSC has sponsored many talented Chinese students for overseas study. From January 2021 to September 2021, Mr. Liang Yang was sponsored by CSC to perform research work at the Advanced Robotics Centre (ARC) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS) as a visiting Ph.D. student, supervised by Prof. Marcelo H. Ang Jr.. In this presentation, a brief introduction of ARC and NUS will be given. A systematic report about his research work on the design and preparation of dielectric elastomer actuator will also be made. Besides, the living and cultural experience in Singapore will also be presented.
