I, Dr. Zezhong Chevy Chen, am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Concordia University, Canada. I am a senior member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and a reviewer for Computer-Aided Design and the ASME Journals. My research interests include multi-axes CNC machining, high-speed machining, and computer-aided design.
I am working on a fully-funded project with Pratt & Whitney, an engine supplier for Boeing, and I also received a Canada National Research Grant. I am urgently looking for high-quality Ph.D. candidates. My requirements for applicants are:
1. being dedicated, hard-working, ambitious, and honest,
2. high GPAs for his Bachelor and Master Degrees (about 85%),
3. good at mathematics, especially, computer-aided geometric design,
4. having CNC machining experience, and
5. good at computer programming.
For the language requirement, as long as his oral English is good and TOFEL is over 590, his language is enough. GRE is not necessary.
